BIO
I am an experienced legal professional with appraisal and commercial brokerage background who has handled more than 7,000 tax appeals before state and local tribunals. I have recovered millions for my corporate and individual clients and has successfully resolved legal matters in hundreds of jurisdictions.
I was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. I attended Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, the London School of Economics in London, England, and obtained a Juris Doctorate from Loyola University School of law in Chicago.
PROFESSIONAL
After graduating from Washington & Lee, my first job was as a commercial real estate broker in Chicago representing tenants in the office market. I graduated from Loyola University School of Law in Chicago at the Water Tower Campus in 2004. I completed these studies in the evenings after a full day of work as a tax consultant at a Chicago loop law firm. In late 2006, I launched The Gibbs Firm, LPA in Cincinnati. I am licensed with the bar in Ohio and Illinois, and I am a licensed tax consultant in Texas, Tennessee and Arizona. Additionally, I am a member of the Cincinnati and Ohio state bar associations. I have represented taxpayers in many other states as co-counsel and through admission to the bars of such states as a “friend of the court” or “Pro Hac Vice” counsel. My experience as a broker and my personal investment in, and development of, commercial properties in the Midwest has given me valuable insight into the valuation of property interests and lends an additional layer of expertise to my tax practice.
